1. Asphalt
At present, asphalt shingles generally include modified asphalt, road asphalt and oxidized asphalt. Among them, road asphalt has a very low melting point and is very volatile, so it is not recommended to use it in the production of asphalt shingles. Oxidized asphalt has good soothing reaction performance and long service life, but the cost of oxidized asphalt is high, resulting in high cost of colored asphalt shingles. The all-day modified waterproof asphalt has a long service life and can be re-bonded after exposure to cracks, making it suitable for the manufacture of colored asphalt shingles.
2. Colored sand
Colored sand can effectively protect the asphalt coating and prevent the asphalt from being exposed to the sun, thereby prolonging the service life of asphalt shingles. There are three main types of colored sand: natural colored sand, high temperature sintered colored sand and dyed colored sand. The dyed colored sand is bright in color but easy to fade. It is easy to be eroded by rain and snow and pollute the roof. The natural colored sand is made of broken natural ore and has good tolerance and color retention. However, natural colored sand is expensive, and the color is not uniform, and there are defects in the aesthetic performance of the roof. High temperature sintered colored sand has good color retention performance and is more suitable for colored sand for asphalt shingle production.
3. Fetal base
There are two main types of tire bases: polyester tires and glass fiber tires. Polyester tires are not recommended to be used in tile manufacturing. Glass fiber tires have stable performance and are the best choice for making asphalt shingles. The national standard has strict regulations on fiberglass tires. The specification of fiberglass tires must be higher than 90g/㎡. When purchasing asphalt shingles, users can ask the asphalt shingle manufacturer to issue an inspection report.
